Bathroom remodeling in Fort Collins. Waterproofed behind the tile.
Tub-to-shower conversions, tiled walk-in showers, new vanities and better ventilation, with waterproofing that keeps water where it belongs.
Bathroom Remodeling
What it involves. And when it's the right call.
Bathrooms wear out faster than any other room. Grout cracks, caulk fails, fans stop pulling moisture out, and a shower that looked fine for years can be soaking the wall behind it. In many Fort Collins homes the original hall bath is also just small and awkward.
We remodel primary baths, hall baths and powder rooms. The part you see is the tile, the vanity and the fixtures. The part that decides whether it lasts is the waterproofing, the slope of the shower floor and the fan, and that is where we spend the most care.
A bathroom remodel makes sense when
- Grout or caulk keeps failing, or tile sounds hollow when you tap it
- You want to swap a tub nobody uses for a walk-in shower
- The vanity has little storage and water damage under the sink
- Mirrors fog and paint peels because the fan does not work well
- Someone in the house needs a lower step-in or grab bars

Step by step
How a bathroom remodel runs. The waterproofing is the job.
Every step is written into your scope before work starts, and you get a short update with photos each week while it happens.
- 1
Look behind the surface
We check for soft subfloor, old leaks and how the fan vents before we price anything.
- 2
Plan the layout
Shower size, door swing, vanity width and storage are planned so everything fits with comfortable clearances.
- 3
Demo to the studs
Old tile and backer come out so we can see and fix any water damage underneath.
- 4
Rough-in and inspect
Valves, drains and wiring are set where the new layout needs them and inspected.
- 5
Waterproof and tile
A waterproof membrane goes behind the tile and the shower floor is sloped to the drain before tile goes on.
- 6
Fixtures and finish
Vanity, toilet, glass, lighting and a properly vented fan go in, then a final walkthrough.
Options
Bathroom choices. Built around how you use it.
Walk-in shower
Tiled, with a bench, niche and glass door or panel.
Curbless entry
No step into the shower, good for aging in place and easy cleaning.
Soaking tub
A freestanding or alcove tub when a bath is the point.
Double vanity
Two sinks and more drawers where the room allows.
Heated floor
Electric mats under tile, welcome on a January morning.
Ventilation
A quiet fan sized for the room and vented outside, on a timer or humidity switch.
Pricing
What drives the cost of a bathroom remodel
Size matters less than most people think. Layout changes and tile work move the price the most.
- Moving the toilet, shower or vanity drain
- Tub-to-shower conversion versus like-for-like replacement
- Amount and type of tile
- Glass doors and panels
- Repairs to subfloor or framing found after demo
- Heated floors, niches and other upgrades

Bathrooms in Fort Collins homes
Fort Collins air is dry most of the year, which hides bathroom moisture problems until they are big ones. A fan that only rattles and a shower with no membrane behind the tile can rot a wall for years without a visible leak. We open things up and fix what we find.
Hall baths in many 1960s to 1980s homes are about five by eight feet, with a tub across the end. Converting that tub to a walk-in shower is one of our most common bathroom projects.
Work that moves walls, plumbing, wiring, gas or ductwork needs a building permit. Inside Fort Collins city limits that comes from the City of Fort Collins; in Loveland, Windsor, Timnath, Wellington, Severance and Berthoud it comes from that city or town; in unincorporated areas like Laporte it comes from Larimer County. The contractor pulls the permit and books the inspections.

FAQ
Bathroom Remodeling: your questions
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
It depends on tile work and layout changes. You get a written schedule before the start date, and the bathroom stays closed only for the phases that need it.
Can you convert my tub to a walk-in shower?
Yes. In most hall baths the shower fits in the same footprint as the tub, with a new drain location and a sloped, waterproofed floor.
Will you find water damage?
Sometimes. That is why we demo to the studs. If we find damage, we show you photos and the cost to fix it before we continue.
Can you add grab bars?
Yes. We add blocking in the wall during the remodel so bars can go anywhere, now or later.
Bathrooms are often the second room on the list. If the kitchen or a basement bath is next, we can plan them as one project.
