Siding and exterior remodeling in Fort Collins. A new face for the house.
New siding, trim, soffit, fascia and exterior paint that change how the house looks from the street and stand up to sun, wind and snow.
Siding and Exterior Remodeling
What it involves. And when it's the right call.
The outside of the house takes a beating here: intense sun, dry wind, freeze-thaw and hail. Older siding fades, cracks and pulls loose, and trim boards rot where water sits.
An exterior remodel replaces the worn layer and lets you change the look of the house at the same time. We plan siding, trim, colors and any window or door changes together so the house looks finished, not patched.
An exterior remodel makes sense when
- Siding is faded, cracked, warped or loose
- Paint peels every few years on the sunny sides
- Trim, soffit or fascia boards are soft or rotted
- You want to change the style or color of the house
- You are replacing windows and want the outside to match

Step by step
How an exterior remodel runs. Weather barrier first, siding second.
Every step is written into your scope before work starts, and you get a short update with photos each week while it happens.
- 1
Inspect the shell
We look for rot, failed flashing and gaps around windows and doors.
- 2
Choose materials and colors
Siding type, trim and colors are chosen with you before anything is ordered.
- 3
Remove old siding
Old siding comes off in sections so the house is never left open.
- 4
Repair and wrap
Damaged sheathing is replaced and a weather barrier with proper flashing goes on.
- 5
Install siding and trim
New siding, corner boards, trim, soffit and fascia are installed and sealed.
- 6
Paint and clean up
Paint or touch-up where needed, magnetic sweep for nails, and a final walk around.

Local conditions
Exteriors in the Fort Collins climate
High-altitude sun breaks down paint and some siding faster than at sea level, especially on south and west walls. Fiber cement and quality paint systems hold up well here.
Northern Colorado also sees regular hail. Some siding products hold up to impact better than others, and we can walk you through the trade-offs.
Many subdivisions require HOA approval for color or material changes, and homes in historic districts may need review. We provide drawings and color samples for those submittals.

FAQ
Siding and Exterior Remodeling: your questions
Do I need a permit for new siding?
It depends on the city and the material. In Fort Collins, for example, new vinyl siding needs a permit, and homes 50 years or older can need historic review for siding changes. The contractor checks your local rules and pulls any permit needed.
Can you work around HOA rules?
Yes. We provide an elevation drawing, product details and color samples for your HOA submittal.
Should I replace windows at the same time?
If windows are near the end of their life, yes. Doing both together means trim and flashing are done once.
An exterior remodel pairs well with new windows and an interior update. We can plan them together.
