How a remodel works
We plan it with you. Then we build it.
Most remodeling headaches come from starting before the plan is done. Here is how every project runs, from the first visit to the last punch-list item.
1. Walkthrough
A planner visits, measures the rooms you want to change, and looks at the panel, plumbing, attic and basement. You talk through how you use the house and what you want to be different.
2. Scope and price
You get a written scope that lists every change room by room, allowances for finishes you still want to pick, and the price. Nothing starts until you sign it.
3. Permits and ordering
The contractor pulls the permit from your city, town or county and orders long-lead items like cabinets and windows early.
4. Build with weekly updates
Work follows a written schedule. Every week you get a short update with photos, what was done, what is next, and any decisions needed from you.
5. Final review
We walk every room with a punch list and finish every item before the final payment.

What goes into a finished Northern Colorado basement
A lot of homes here sit on a full basement that is still bare concrete. This is the order we build one out so the room stays warm, dry and legal to sleep in.
- Check the slab and walls first. Signs of water get solved before framing, and a radon test is easy to run now.
- Floating, insulated walls. Partition walls leave a gap at the bottom so a slab that moves with clay soil does not crack the drywall or jam doors.
- An egress window and well for every bedroom, sized to the code your city or county has adopted.
- Permits and inspections. Basement finishes need a permit. The contractor pulls it and books each inspection.
